Photo & Media Use Policy
Core Consent Language
Duluth-Superior Pride is a nonprofit community organization that documents its activities for historical record, community storytelling, education, and organizational communication through photography, video, audio, and related media.
By granting permission under a Duluth-Superior Pride media release or by participating in activities where photography or recording is disclosed, the participant acknowledges and agrees to the following terms:
1. Permission to Capture Media
Duluth-Superior Pride and its authorized employees, volunteers, contractors, and representatives may photograph, film, audiotape, or otherwise record participants during events, programs, and organizational activities.
2. Use of Media
Images, recordings, or excerpts thereof may be used by Duluth-Superior Pride for lawful organizational purposes including, but not limited to, organizational communications, educational materials, historical archives, printed materials, websites, newsletters, and official social media accounts.
3. Ownership of Media
All photographs, video recordings, audio recordings, and other media captured by Duluth-Superior Pride or its authorized representatives remain the property of Duluth-Superior Pride unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4. Editing and Adaptation
Duluth-Superior Pride may edit, crop, format, or otherwise adapt media for design, clarity, accessibility, or publication purposes, provided such use is not misleading or materially disrespectful to the subject.
5. Compensation
Participation in photography, video, or audio recording does not create any right to payment, royalties, or other compensation.
6. Privacy Commitment
Duluth-Superior Pride values the privacy and trust of its community. Media collected by Duluth-Superior Pride will not be sold, licensed, or transferred to outside commercial entities for their independent marketing or advertising use. Duluth-Superior Pride may publish media through its own official communication channels, including third-party platforms used to distribute Duluth-Superior Pride content. Duluth-Superior Pride does not provide its media library to third-party marketing databases or advertising networks.
7. Respectful Use
Duluth-Superior Pride will make reasonable efforts to use media in a manner that respects the dignity, identity, and context of the individuals depicted and is consistent with the organization’s values and community standards.
8. Duration of Permission
Unless otherwise stated in writing, permission granted under a Duluth-Superior Pride media release remains in effect for media already captured and may apply to future organizational use of that media.
9. Questions or Concerns
Participants with questions or concerns regarding the use of their image may contact Duluth-Superior Pride through its official communication channels. Duluth-Superior Pride will make reasonable efforts to review and address requests concerning future use of media but cannot guarantee removal from materials already printed, published, distributed, or archived.
